Our History
At Central Heating and Air Conditioning, we are proud to say that we have been serving the Billings and surrounding areas since 1945. Ralph Winchell founded the company in 1945, initially known as Central Sheet Metal, with the goal of providing high-quality HVAC equipment installed by skilled craftsmen. Over the years, the company has remained family-owned and operated, with John and Jerry Winchell taking over from their father Ralph in the 1970s and Lenny Earnst joining the team in 1997. In 2011, Lenny and his wife, Gina, purchased Central Sheet Metal from John and renamed the company Central Heating & Air Conditioning.
