Our History

Emory Lee Walker, our founder, began his journey in 1959 when he graduated from Lindsey Hopkins Technical School in Miami, Florida, with a degree in Refrigeration Technologies. After working on dairy refrigeration equipment in the South Florida region, Emory founded Emory Walker Co. in 1966. Since then, we have expanded our services to become a leading dealer of genuine Lennox equipment, and we continue to prioritize our customers' needs above all else.

Our History

From its inception, Emory Walker Co. has been committed to serving Central and South Florida with quality and excellence. Over the years, we have expanded our services, reached new milestones, and continued to prioritize our customers' needs. Take a look at our journey:

  • September 1959: Emory Lee Walker graduated from Lindsey Hopkins Technical School in Miami, Florida.
  • January 1960: Emory began working on dairy refrigeration equipment in the South Florida region.
  • January 1966: Emory Walker Co. was founded.
  • May 1968: We hired our first employee to assist with the growing demand for refrigeration work.
  • April 1975: We secured exclusive rights with Lennox Air Conditioning to become a licensed dealer of genuine Lennox Equipment.
  • March 1, 1979: Emory became a State Certified Class A Air Conditioning Contractor.
  • February 1981: We built a new building where we are currently located today.
  • August 1982: We implemented our Planned Service program, which entitled our customers to 24-hour assistance.
  • February 1984: We became a Charter Member of the Lennox Dealer Advisory Council.
  • December 1985: Steve and Scott graduated from Mid Florida Technical Institute with a degree in Refrigeration Technologies and Air Conditioning.
  • December 1987: Steve became a State Certified Class B Air Conditioning Contractor.
  • December 1995: Scott became a State Certified Class B Air Conditioning Contractor.
  • January 1998: We began installing dairy equipment.
  • November 2012: Scott Walker became the 2nd president of Emory Walker Company.
  • July 2014: We installed the first automated calf-feeding system in the State of Florida.
