CMP Energy began its journey in 1954 as Robert R. Mitchell Oil Company. Founded by Bob Mitchell, who saw an opportunity in the Philipsburg area and purchased the Philipsburg Division in 1954. At the time, the company primarily serviced the coal industry. Over the years, the company expanded its services to include propane, heating oil, fleet fueling, bulk oil and lubricants, HVAC service and installation, generators, fireplaces, and convenience stores.

Today, CMP Energy is a leading home comfort provider in Central Pennsylvania, serving Cambria, Centre, and Clearfield counties. Our team of experts is dedicated to providing reliable delivery of high-quality heating oil and propane, expert repair services, and installation of new energy-efficient equipment.

We believe in supporting the youth in our community and have been a longtime supporter of Little League baseball, the Moshannon Valley YMCA, and the Camp Mountain Run Boy Scout camp.
