Training the Skilled Trades for a Stronger Community

United Association Local 112 (UA Local 112) has been serving the Southern Tier for over 125 years. Since 1893, we have been committed to our role in the community and have taken great pride in our Apprentice Training Program. This program is one of the most comprehensive training programs of its kind anywhere in the country.

Our five-year program of classroom and on-the-job training covers all phases of plumbing, heating, welding, and air conditioning, along guidelines set by the State of New York and the US Department of Labor. Our instructors conduct their classes in modern facilities on state-of-the-art equipment. Individual attention and guidance are given high priority. Strict codes of performance are learned from the start of training and are monitored in the field by journeymen during each apprentice's on-the-job training experiences.

Local 112 maintains these high training standards to ensure that skilled, efficient, and productive journeymen plumbers and Pipefitters are always available - to serve the community's needs. Our members have helped build every major building in our jurisdictional territory, from schools, colleges, and universities, to hospitals, manufacturing facilities and power houses to high rise hotels and entertainment facilities.
