Driven by the rising demand for apartments and the expansion of prominent hotel chains like Marriott Residence Inn, EHC extended its reach across numerous states, including Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Maine, Minnesota, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont, and Virginia. In 1994, John and Jim Sedine acquired the company from Tom and Shirley, ushering in a new era marked by further expansion and diversification.

A Commitment to Staying at the Forefront

Recognizing the critical impact of codes and standards on the HVAC industry, EHC deeply integrated itself into the development and interpretation of these regulations. The company actively participated in the International Code Council and the Mechanical Inspectors Association of Michigan, ensuring its work aligned with the latest industry best practices. EHC's membership in the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) further solidified its position at the forefront of technological advancements, allowing the company to contribute to the development of HVAC/R technical manuals and ANSI-certified standards.

This dedication to staying ahead of the curve was further exemplified in 1998 when Aaron Sedine joined the company full-time, bringing his mechanical engineering expertise. Aaron's arrival marked a significant shift towards design-build expertise, empowering EHC to take on more complex and innovative projects. To accommodate its growing operations, the company relocated to a larger facility in Walker, Michigan, and consequently changed its name to Engineered Heating & Cooling (EHC) to reflect its expanded capabilities and commitment to cutting-edge technologies like LEED and Green Building.

In pursuit of a more efficient work environment and to offer greater proximity to its employees, EHC relocated to Cedar Springs, Michigan in 2012. This move was followed in 2018 by Aaron Sedine assuming ownership of the company, marking a new chapter in its ongoing legacy of quality and innovation.
