Our Story

Glades Gas, a family-owned business, has been proudly serving the community since 1929. Founded by Daniel B McCarthy, it initially offered refrigerators powered by propane to Okeechobee housewives, providing them with a luxury previously unavailable. Over the years, the business has expanded to include air conditioning sales and service, ice machine sales and service, and even generator connections. Dennis and Karen McCarthy, the current owners, have continued to build on the legacy started by Dennis' grandfather, focusing on solving problems for their customers on various levels.
